Who is responsible for your data

Kurius Chocolate is a trade name of Estefania Alexandra Montenegro Solórzano (RUC 1720070091001), La Merced, Calle De Los Guangales, Eje transversal, Ecuador — the data controller for this website and the Kurius app. Contact: info@kuriuschocolate.com or WhatsApp +593 98 890 2460.

This policy follows Ecuador's Organic Law on Personal Data Protection (LOPDP).

Kurius app (iOS and Android)

• No accounts, no advertising, no tracking and no analytics in the app.
• Your order details (name, phone, optional email, city, address, landmark, notes and, if you ask for an invoice, your ID/RUC and billing name) are used to write your order message. The app does not send them to any Kurius server: when you tap “Hacer pedido por WhatsApp”, WhatsApp opens with the message and you decide whether to send it. When you send it, Kurius receives those details through WhatsApp.
• Stored only on your phone: your selection (cart), your order history (products, quantities and order reference only — no personal details), your preferences (language, sound, saved recipes) and, only if you turn on “Recordar mis datos” (off by default), your delivery details, encrypted in the phone's secure storage. Turn the option off or uninstall the app to delete them.
• Recipe videos and images are streamed from our content server on Cloudflare. As with any internet connection, Cloudflare processes technical data (such as IP address and device type) to deliver them; we do not use it to identify you.
• “Ver en Instagram / YouTube”, WhatsApp and share actions open those services, which apply their own privacy policies.

• Anonymous, aggregated visit statistics (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights), without tracking cookies.
• Professional enquiry form: company, contact name, role, email, country, shipping address, products, volume and message, used to answer your enquiry. They are emailed to the Kurius team (through Resend), you receive a confirmation, and a technical record is kept by our hosting provider (Vercel).
• Contact and newsletter: if you write to us by WhatsApp or email, we use your details to reply.

Why we use your data and on what basis

• To prepare, confirm, deliver and invoice your order, at your request (pre-contractual and contractual relationship).
• To remember your details on your phone and send you news, only with your consent.
• To keep the website secure and understand aggregated usage (legitimate interest).
• To meet legal and tax obligations, such as electronic invoicing with the SRI.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your data. We only rely on providers that help us operate: WhatsApp (Meta), the channel you choose to send your order; Cloudflare (videos); Vercel (website hosting and statistics); Resend (enquiry emails); the courier that delivers your order (name, phone and address); and the SRI when we issue an invoice. Apple and Google distribute the app under their own policies. Some of these providers process data outside Ecuador (for example, in the United States) under their contractual safeguards.

How long we keep it

• Order conversations and invoicing data: as long as needed to handle your order and for the periods required by tax law.
• Professional enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless a business relationship continues.
• Data stored on your phone: until you delete it.

Your rights

Under the LOPDP you can request access, rectification and update, deletion, objection, portability and suspension of processing, and you have the right not to be subject to automated decisions. Write to info@kuriuschocolate.com or WhatsApp +593 98 890 2460; we will reply within the legal deadlines. You may also file a complaint with Ecuador's Personal Data Protection Superintendency.

Security and minors

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), the phone's secure storage for remembered details and a signed recipe catalogue. Our services are intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes

If we change this policy we will publish the new version on this page with its update date.
